Itinerary

Day 1:El Calafate

Arrival at Buenos Aires International Airport (Ezeiza). Depending on your flight, you will either depart from this airport or go to the national airport (allow 5 hours between the two flights). Flight to the South and Patagonia. Upon arrival at El Calafate Airport, a transfer awaits you and takes you to your hotel. A transfer awaits you upon your arrival at the airport with a sign bearing your name, to take you to your hotel.

Day 2:El Calafate - Glacier Perito Moreno - El Calafate - El Chalten

Clafate
This morning transfer along Lake Argentino before reaching the Magallanes Peninsula. One enters the Los Glaciares Park for approaching the Perito Moreno glacier, huge glacier tongues coming from the continental ice field. Today ballade facing its impressive ice front, observing the   seracs falling into the turquoise waters of Lago Argentino. On site, is also possible an optional navigation in front of the southern part of the ice front. Back to El Calafate. Trip along Lago Argentino, then towards El Chalten, also called the capital of Argentinian trekking. You will take Ruta 40, cross the Rio Santa Cruz, then follow the vastness of Lake Viedma with, if the weather is clear, in front of you the spectacular panorama of granite peaks, Cerro Torre, Saint Exupéry, Fitz Roy, Guillaumet.Night in Hotel.

Day 3:El Chalten

Hike overlooking the Rio las Vueltas, before following the Chorillo del Salto with a superb view of the granite needles. Soon there will appear the enormous tongue of the Piedras Blancas glacier which goes down to the valley. Having arrived at the Poincenot campsite, you will come join the foot of the moraine which means one hour of steady climbing to the foot of the spectacular Fitz Roy and the adjacent crags of Mermoz, Guillaumet and Saint Exupéry. A unique spectacle of stone giants which are reflected in Laguna de los Tres. To the left, the strange colour of Laguna Sucia is well worth a visit. Return to El Chalten the same way.

Day 4:El Chalten - El Calafate

El Chalten
Hike to Cerro Torre. You will come across a plateau overlooking Rio de las Vueltas and you will enter a valley with the Cerro Torre Mountain Range and Las Adelas soon on the horizon. The trail follows the valley along the Rio Fitz Roy, crossing several rock sills. After three hours of walking, you will arrive in front of Lago Torre at the foot of Cerro Torre, an impressive granite crag covered with a snow mushroom. Bus back to El Calafate.

Day 5:El Calafate - Parc Torres del Paine

Morning departure by bus to reach Chile and Torres del Paine Park. You leave lago Argentino, then follow the turquoise waters of Rio Santa Cruz. You then begin a long crossing of the pampas, to reach the border posts of Cancha carrera and Cerro Castillo. After passing the Sarmiento and Laguna Amarga Lakes, you enter the National Park. Walk to Salto Grande, a waterfall separating Lake Nordenskjold from Lake Pehoe. Catamaran crossing of Lake Pehoe. Night in camping.

Day 6:Parc Torres del Paine

Glacier Palatam
Day hike to Lake Grey. You leave the turquoise waters of Lake Pehoe and bypass Pointe Bariloche. By the half-way point you will already be able to see the immensity of the Grey glacier in the distance, and its icebergs drifting majestically across the lake.

Day 7:Parc Torres del Paine

Parc Torres del Paine
Free morning to stroll near the glacier or hike further upstream, or why not go for a walk on the glacier or go kayaking in the middle of the blocks of ice. Midday departure to see the glacier from the lake, discover its seracs and its icy blue depths, sipping “whiskey on the rocks”. Landing on Grey Beach, with the surreal scenery of these bluish blocks of ice come to wash ashore on the black sand beach. After a short crossing in a lenga forest (southern beech), you find your vehicle. Transfer to take you back to Lake Pehoe. Catamaran lake-crossing and overnight stay at Paine Grande Camping, facing the Los Cuernos massif.

Day 8:Parc Torres del Paine

The next morning you leave the turquoise waters of Lake Pehoe to hike towards the Frances valley. Reaching the Skottsberg Lake by skirting around the Bariloche peak and then continuing towards the valley entrance. Opposite is the spectacular panorama of the Cuernos, their granite needles tipped with black sediments. Having arrived at the foot of the Cuernos you will be able to discover the impressive Paine Grande ridge. Reaching a height of 3050m, this is the highest peak of the Paine Massif, a spectacular summit where the unleashed power of the elements rages over a huge hanging glacier. You then have an opportunity to continue up the valley to see the breathtaking view of the surrounding lakes. Higher up you will reach the campamento Britanico, at the gateway to a granite glacial cirque, unique within the park. Opposite opens a vista of knife-edge ridges with evocative names: “Tiburon”, “Espada”, “Mascara.” Return to lake Pehoe the same way, catamaran lake crossing and bus  to Laguna Amarga and Las Torres Complex.

Day 9:Parc Torres del Paine - Puerto Natales

Paine
The final hike, completing the “W” with Las Torres Valley, climbing up along the Ascencio River, through forests of lengas, the oldest in the park. You will arrive at the foot of the moraine. It will then take you about 45 minutes to climb up the side of the moraine to reach the park’s most renowned viewpoint, the “Mirador las Torres” at the foot of the Norte, Central and Sur towers. Opposite you, above the glacier, rise the 1000m vertical granite walls, a spectacle that is totally unique and utterly breathtaking. A break for lunch in this dramatic mountain landscape, before returning back down into the valley. Bus back to Puerto Natales.

Jour 10 :Puerto Natales - Santiago

A transfer picks you up from your hotel to take you to Puerto Natales Airport. Flight for Santiago.
